‘Autism Europe’ Consul and the founder of the ‘Child with Future’ Foundation Inna Sergienko will take part in the 5th scientific and practical school on autism ‘Children, adolescents and youth with autism spectrum disorders. New challenges and approaches to therapy and rehabilitation.
The event will take place in Lviv on June 10-12 online and offline.
Inna Sergienko will speak about ‘Socialization and comprehensive support of families with autists and specialists working with them’.
“By raising a special child, the family is also autistic. The family is constantly faced with a lack of social understanding (even relatives), with a fear that they are different from others. When parents hear about the diagnosis, they do not always know how and where to move on. And all the pressure circumstances, in the end, lead to the limitation to all social contacts. And thus the family isolates itself from the world. This situation is especially observed in the regions. This is a phenomenon that we need to overcome. I emphasize: parents of a special child also need comprehensive support,” says the ‘Autism Europe’ Consul.
Besides Inna Sergienko, the conference will be attended by Igor Martsenkovsky, head of the child psychiatry section of the Ukrainian Psychiatric Association, Yevhenia Panichevskaya, director of the Association of Parents of Autistic Children, Yekaterina Ostrovskaya, head of the Kolpingberg Ukraine Educational and Advisory Center, and many international experts.
