March, 13, in Kirovograd, the 12-th seminar of Consul “Autism Europe” Inna Sergiyenko was held in the frames of regional tour that was started from towns of Ukraine in autumn 2013. The seminar “Problems and achievements in the sphere of autism in the world and in Ukraine” Inna has read at the invitation of the Center of Social Rehabilitation (day stay) for disabled children of Kirovskiy regional council in Kirovograd.
Consul “Autism Europe” Inna Sergiyenko has drawn the attention of the problem of adaptation of children with autism to realities of the world – how to integrate such a child, how to choose a proper activity for him, to sort out useful lessons, approaches, to turn games, creativity and communication into a therapy.
Actual issues have been discussed – from early diagnosis of disorder to attraction of special children till educational process.
“A child with autism is necessary to be cured not with medicine, but with a social development – an integration of a personality into a society, communication with other children, – says a director of municipal institution “Center of social rehabilitation (day stay) for disabled children of Kirovskiy regional council in Kirovograd, Anna Zabotkina. – But there is another problem – specialists sometimes do not know how to work with such children, how to react on some situations, cannot estimate a degree of disorder and that is why we are eager to receive practical information for our specialists.”
